Earlier in the morning on Facebook, CPS said officers were called to the 300 block of 8 Avenue SW around 7:30 a.m. for reports that a man had assaulted a security guard.
“No weapons were reported and the victims suffered minor injuries,” police wrote on Twitter.
At the time, the police had not yet specified in which area of town the man might be. On Twitter, a person responded to the Calgary Police Service and asked what area, to which police responded, “He’s traveling all over downtown, please call 911 if you see him.”
“The man is believed to have traveled downtown, both inside shopping centers and on high streets as well as transit platforms, physically assaulting people at random,” police said on Facebook.
