A nurse in Three Hills has been charged after allegations of sexual assault related to his medical duties.
Three Hills RCMP received a complaint about the medical profession in July, which launched an investigation into the alleged sexual assault. Police say the complainant reported the nurse “sexually assaulted her in exchange for prescription drugs and money”.
Mounties arrested Three Hills nurse Christopher Mah on November 19; he has since been charged with sexual assault, extortion and breach of trust. He was released from custody and will appear in the provincial court in Drumheller on December 9.
Mah’s name does not currently appear in a search of the College of Registered Nurses’ registry, nor does it appear in any of the college’s posted disciplinary decisions.
Postmedia reached out to the College of Registered Nurses for more information on the status of Mah’s license to practice.
Mounties are urging anyone with information that could assist the ongoing investigation to contact the Three Hills Division at 403-443-5539 or their local police. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or online at P3Tips.com.
Three Hills is located about 130 kilometers northeast of Calgary.
