The research, completed by Planet Cruise, arrived at the list by evaluating the markets on seven factors. These include number of stalls, number of days open, TripAdvisor ratings, TripAdvisor reviews, social media posts, positive social sentiment and Google search.

According to Planet Cruise’s list, Spruce Meadows Market has the most stalls by a long shot, with a total of 414. Next closest to the top 10 is the Dresden Christmas Market in Germany, with 260 stalls. The nine-day event also has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor.

A press release said the study found overall that the UK and Germany were the most festive countries when it came to Christmas, dominating 28 percent of the list. Both countries had a total of 14 Christmas markets that made the world’s top 50 list.
