The RCMP have arrested one man over the alleged theft of greater than 100 analysis path cameras used to review wild horses.
In October 2021, Sundre RCMP acquired a grievance from the Assist Alberta Wildlife Society that 10 analysis path cameras had been stolen from the Williams Creek space.
Since then, police stated there have been three extra thefts within the space in February and March 2022, in addition to earlier this month.
In complete, 135 cameras have been stolen, totaling about $30,000.
On March 9, police executed a search warrant on a house in Mayerthorpe, Alta., and located 52 of the stolen cameras.
Mayerthorpe resident Lonnie Roth was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime and mischief. He’ll seem within the provincial court docket on Might 11.
