    One man dead after Douglasdale shooting

    A man is dead after a shooting Thursday morning in the southeast Calgary community of Douglasdale.

    Police say they responded around 8:30 a.m. to reports of multiple shots fired in the 200 block of Douglas Ridge Circle SE. Officers arrived to find one man dead.

    Homicide investigators say the incident is believed to be targeted. They are on the scene gathering footage from security cameras and information from witnesses.

    Our Homicide Unit is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred this morning in the southeast community of Douglasdale.

    An autopsy will be scheduled later this week. AHS EMS says no other injuries were reported in the shooting.

    On social media, several residents of the community say that the street is still blocked off and officers have been spotted in the area with guns drawn.

    Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
