A police officer is in hospital and a canine is lifeless after an interplay at an encampment close to 50 Avenue and Macleod Path.
Calgary police say officers have been known as to an encampment round 10:30 a.m. Tuesday that was arrange round a motorhome on 50 Avenue east of Macleod.
When officers arrived, one was attacked and bitten by a canine, in response to police. The officer shot the canine with a view to cease the assault.
The canine died on the scene.
“Police are persevering with to work with our companions on the Metropolis of Calgary Bylaw Companies to analyze this incident,” reads a launch from police.
CPS says the injured officer was taken to hospital on account of the canine assault.
Alberta’s police watchdog, Alberta Critical Incident Response Workforce (ASIRT), says they won’t be investigating the incident.
