Two former Calgary Stampeders are returning to the CFL membership as coaches.
On Tuesday, Nik Lewis and Juwan Simpson had been named Calgary’s receivers and defensive position coach, respectively, for the 2023 season.
Corridor of Famer Lewis performed receiver for 11 seasons with the Stampeders, and Simpson was a defensive again for eight.

Each gained Grey Cups with Calgary in 2008 and 2014.
JR Davies, a former quarterback from Simon Fraser College, is the newcomer to the teaching workers.
He’ll oversee the operating backs after serving as a regional scouting marketing consultant for Calgary.
“There isn’t any doubt that these three will carry power, data and recent concepts to our crew,” head coach and basic supervisor Dave Dickenson stated in a press release.
“All three have Stampeder roots, so that they know our normal and the way we function.”

Dickenson, who was promoted to GM in December, saved the core of his teaching workers intact for 2023, together with the return of particular groups coordinator Mark Kilam for a nineteenth season within the group.
Defensive coordinator Brent Monson, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Pan DelMonaco, operating backs coach Marc Mueller, defensive backs coach Dwayne Cameron and linebackers coach Bob Slowik will even return in 2023.

“We’ve been lucky to maintain the vast majority of our workers collectively,” Dickenson stated in a press release.
“I recognize their loyalty and their dedication to constantly placing out a successful product.”
The Stampeders went 12-6 in 2022 and misplaced to the BC Lions within the West Division semifinal.
Calgary opens the common season on June 8 at residence towards the Lions.
