Calgary police closed travel on southbound Stoney Trail between 96 Avenue NE and McKnight Boulevard NE on Monday due to multi-car collisions.
“Road conditions deteriorating with poor visibility,” the Calgary Police Service posted on social media. “Please drive carefully and avoid this area.”
The closure came into effect just before noon. Police have not said if anyone was injured.
The City of Calgary Department of Transportation has noted a collision on the southbound portion of the eastbound ring road to McKnight Boulevard and is advising motorists to avoid the area.
The city also posted a social media notification of another crash on the southeast portion of the ring road: a two-vehicle incident on eastbound Stoney Trail approaching 88 Street SE.
