    Batteries are believed to be the reason for a home fireplace in northwest Calgary Wednesday night time, the Calgary Fireplace Division stated.

    The fireplace was reported within the Sherwood Mount NW space round 8:40 p.m., the fireplace division stated.

    Neighbors reported listening to explosions earlier than the fireplace broke out.

    The storage was engulfed in flames and the fireplace unfold to the attic of the home.

    A father and daughter have been in the home on the time, however each escaped. Each have been taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation accidents, a Thursday morning information launch stated.
