A lady has been taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after her dwelling northeast of Calgary was impacted by a storage fireplace Saturday, Airdrie RCMP says.
Mounties say they obtained a report for a welfare verify for a resident residing on Gib Bell Shut in Irricana at round 5:45 a.m.
Smoke was seen coming from the house upon arrival, and police say the fireplace division and EMS arrived to help.
They are saying efforts to enter the house and verify on her welfare have been “hampered” by flames spreading from an connected storage.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and EMS took her to Calgary Foothills for therapy.
Mounties say the trigger is unknown at the moment.
