The province is investigating a wastewater spill Tuesday on the Alberta Newsprint Firm plant in Whitecourt, Alta., northwest of Edmonton.
Alberta Surroundings and Protected Areas is investigating the fallout with the security and well-being of communities as a prime precedence, the federal government mentioned.
The paper mill introduced in vacuum vehicles to take away wastewater alongside the spill route in addition to soaked gravel, vegetation and solids, in accordance with the province. The spill materials will likely be examined each on and off website by a guide employed by the newsprint firm.
They can even check a pattern from the Athabasca River, each upstream and downstream of the spill website. The province says consuming water sources are being carefully monitored and there are at present no communities affected.
