Alberta’s highest court docket has dismissed a former Ontario truck driver’s bid for a 3rd trial within the 2011 loss of life of a girl in an Edmonton resort.
Bradley Barton was sentenced to 12 1/2 years for manslaughter within the loss of life of Cindy Gladue, a Métis and Cree girl who bled to loss of life in a tub.
Gladue, who was 36, was a intercourse employee Barton had employed for 2 nights.
Earlier trials heard that the truck driver from Mississauga, Ont., carried out a sexual act on Gladue that severely wounded her.
He testified the intercourse was consensual.
A jury discovered Barton not responsible in 2015 of first-degree homicide, nevertheless it was appealed by the Crown and he had a second trial in 2021.
