Provincial and municipal officers are rolling out a pilot challenge “addressing public security in downtown Calgary” on Tuesday afternoon.
Minister of Public Security and Emergency Providers Mike Ellis, Minister of Psychological Well being and Habit Nicholas Milliken, Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek, Calgary Police Service Chief Mark Neufeld and Alberta Sheriffs Performing Chief Bob Andrews will all be current on the CPS East Village Security Hub for the announcement.
This press convention will likely be streamed on this story at 14:00

The pilot challenge comes two weeks after the province introduced an analogous initiative in Edmonton, pairing Alberta sheriffs with downtown Edmonton Police Service patrols for a 15-week pilot challenge set to start in late February.
One Edmonton housing advocate informed International Information that the province’s plan for that metropolis is just not a solution to group well-being.
“All extra enforcement on the road does is conceal an issue or transfer it round, but it surely does nothing to resolve the issue,” Jim Gurnett of the Edmonton Coalition on Housing and Homelessness stated on February 2nd.
