More Than Ice Cream restaurant was recently closed after an Alberta Health Services (AHS) executive inspected the business.
The inspector found several violations at More Than Ice Cream Chinese & Western Cuisine located at 103 2nd Avenue in Strathmore that could be harmful or dangerous to public health.
“An extremely large amount of mouse droppings located throughout the facility,” the written instruction from the AHS reads.
This closing order of the AHS is dated October 20, with an oral order given on October 18.
There were other instances of unsanitary conditions found by the inspector, including “bags of sugar, rice and onions were stored directly on the floor,” and the “soap dispenser was empty at the hand sink on the main prep line.”
“No written sanitation program schedule was available,” reads the AHS order.
To reopen, the restaurant must make changes, including cleaning up the mouse droppings, storing all food off the floor in a way that prevents contamination, and ensuring that all hand washing supplies are stocked and dispensers in good working order. condition is.
The order’s current status on the AHS website is inactive, meaning “this order is no longer in force as the necessary repairs have been completed.”
