Calgary Hearth battalion chief Bruce Barrs says crews responded to a fourplex within the 2200 block of 48 Road SE shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Barrs provides the fireplace is believed to have began in one of many higher items and unfold in direction of the basement.
Sadly, three household pets died within the hearth.
