    Invoice Blair, president of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and minister of emergency preparedness, introduced the funding Monday in Banff for the Alberta Search and Rescue Affiliation’s revitalization to enhance all-hazards response.

    The funds come from a $7.6 million Public Security Canada Search and Rescue New Initiatives Fund.

    SAR Alberta represents 33 search and rescue organizations throughout the province, involving greater than 1,400 volunteers.
