A BC filmmaker has slammed Air Canada for losing a million dollar package needed for a feature film shoot in Mexico.
Amanda Verhagen, founder of Vancouver-based production company Notable Content, came out of her two-year Twitter hiatus on Saturday to share her frustrations with the airline.
“Got back on Twitter because [Air Canada] lost our MILLION DOLLAR camera package for our feature film and are doing nothing to find it,” she tweeted. “We shoot on Monday.”

We shoot on Monday.

verhagen, who worked on blockbuster movies like Jurassic World Dominion, detailed the chain of events in a thread.
She says Air Canada received the precious cargo on Friday, October 14 at its Toronto warehouse.
It was scanned and shown the airline had it on its security cameras until Verhagen says it disappeared into a room without cameras.
The filmmaker says then it was placed on a flight without being scanned, so she had no idea where it was going.
“Once again the movies on Monday,” her tweet read. “It’s a multimillion-dollar mistake to push up the film days, find a new package, travel it in time – now by land.”
Again, the movie films on Monday. This is a multi-million dollar mistake. To push the movie days, find a new package, travel it in time – now by land. And @AirCanada not responding Not helping.

To top it off, says Verhagen Air Canada was does not respond to her inquiries.
Two hours after the manufacturer’s initial tweet, Air Canada responded and said she needed to send them further details.
On Sunday, she responded, saying that there had been no response, one day after the shooting.

Fortunately, Verhagen shared a positive update on Monday.
“After email every [Air Canada] CEO I could find — the camera package is still ‘magically found’ in Toronto!” she tweeted.
Still, the incident disturbed the filming.
Verhagen says the camera package arrived in Mexico in the middle of the night, hoping it would clear customs with only two or three days lost to the shoot.
The summer of chaos for air travel may be over, but Air Canada continues to receive complaints of damaged and delayed baggage and canceled flights.
Despite the turbulent summer for the airline, it still managed to land on the 2022 list of top airlines in the world.
