Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. and Unifor reached a preliminary collective settlement on Friday afternoon for 1,200 staff chargeable for the upkeep of railcars and locomotives.
Negotiations have been ongoing since September and had been set to run out on December 31, 2022.
“These negotiations have encountered a number of tough intervals and the bargaining committee has labored very onerous to attain a tentative return to the membership,” stated Rick Raso, president of Unifor Native 101R.
Unifor stated it’s going to present members with details about ratification conferences, which shall be held in varied areas throughout the nation, within the coming days.

“CP is proud to have reached one other tentative collective settlement with a valued union accomplice. This tentative settlement is a testomony to the onerous work, cooperation and dedication of either side,” added Keith Creel, CP’s President and CEO.
The contract covers staff at 18 areas stretching from British Columbia to Quebec.
Each the corporate and union stated actual particulars of the tentative contract won’t be made public till the settlement is ratified.
