As increasing numbers of people return to downtown Calgary to work and play, law enforcement agencies say they are aware of the discomfort felt due to violent crime.

There is a more visible police presence downtown, including the establishment of security centers since the end of COVID-19 restrictions and the resumption of work in office buildings, said Calgary police Insp. Scott Boyd.
