A hardworking Calgary athlete is celebrating a reasonably spectacular achievement.
In terms of breaking new floor in her sport, Sasha Edwards is true on course.
Edwards is on the point of head to Tulsa, Okla., for the World Axe Throwing League championship.
She’ll even be representing Canada within the knife-throwing part of the competitors.
It’s a sport wherein women and men compete alongside one another.

“I’m the primary feminine who has certified for all 4 disciplines (on the world championship),” Edwards stated. “It feels actually good.
“Axe-throwing has all the time been a male-dominated sport, and so to be the primary girl to realize such an enormous distinction like that, it means a lot.”
Edwards trains on the Stay Edge Axe Throwing facility in northeast Calgary.
The power’s homeowners, Nick and Kendra Kolomyja, may even be competing as a part of Group Canada in Tulsa.
The Kolomyjas say they’re glad to see Edwards taking part in such a significant position on the occasion.
“For Sasha, for the game, for all the pieces, it’s wonderful,” Nick Kolomyja stated. “It’s superior.’”
The world championship in Tulsa options opponents from 15 nations.
The occasion runs from Thursday, April 18 to Sunday, April 21.
