    Alberta beef producers launch new effort to reduce food waste – Calgary

    Some dedicated Calgarians are taking a brand new sustainability marketing campaign throughout the nation this spring.

    They’re out to cut back waste and preserve meals out of the landfill.

    Members of the Calgary-based Canadian Cattle Affiliation (CCA) have come out with a documentary referred to as Cut back, Reuse, Ruminate.

    It’s geared toward reducing down Canada’s meals waste by feeding cattle with produce destined for the landfill.

    “To try to get the meat trade onto a sustainable path,” the CCA’s Bob Lowe stated. “Make the most of meals that may’t be used for human meals – squishing it, mixing it up, placing it in a pile and giving it to the cattle”.

    CCA members are taking their message to screening classes throughout Canada, hoping to encourage others to work on decreasing meals waste.
