OTTAWA — Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. says the annual tempo of housing begins in February climbed 14 per cent in contrast with January.
The nationwide housing company says the seasonally adjusted annual fee of housing begins amounted to 253,468 items in February in contrast with 223,176 in January.
When year-over-year figures, February’s precise housing begins have been 10 per cent increased in Toronto and 82 per cent increased in Vancouver due to increased multi-unit begins.
Montreal’s precise begins dropped 9 per cent with multi-unit and single-detached begins each falling.
The annual fee of rural begins was estimated at 14,835 items.
The six-month transferring common of the month-to-month seasonally adjusted annual charges of housing begins in February was 245,665, up by 0.4 per cent from 244,638 in January.
