Alberta says a federal emissions cap on greenhouse gases “is not going to be tolerated” because the province’s atmosphere minister meets as we speak together with her federal counterpart.
Alberta’s formal response to Ottawa’s proposal says the cap would undercut the work that the province has been efficiently pursuing “for many years” to scale back emissions.
The response says oilsands manufacturing has already risen above the forecasts that had been used to determine the proposed 100-megatonne restrict.
It says the expertise wanted to deliver emissions down sufficient doesn’t but exist.
