    Households Minister Jenna Sudds says provinces and territories signed $10-a-day youngster care agreements with the federal authorities with their “eyes huge open,” and Ottawa now expects them to make this system work.

    The minister’s feedback come as some child-care operators in Ontario and Alberta are warning they could withdraw from this system, and even be compelled to shut altogether, in the event that they don’t get extra working funds.

    The federal Liberals budgeted $30 billion over 5 years to section within the child-care program, with a goal to create hundreds of areas with a $10-a-day payment by 2026.
